How To Build A Bus Shelter

-scatbus2.jpg20140128

Jim Liesenfelt of Space Coast Area Transit sent us some information on how to build bus shelters. We don’t need SCAT’s permission to do it, we just need to get a plan approved by the city or county depending on the location. Here’s a good starting point from FDOT on how to design good facilities: http://www.floridatsn.org/fdot/accessing-transit-design-handbook-for-florida-bus-passenger-facilities-version-iii/ If you’d like to help get shelters, benches, or other improvements made to a local bus stop let us know. We have a couple of things in the works. We need volunteers and we will be collecting donations for specific projects soon. -Barry Watkins, Walkable Brevard, walkablebrevard@gmail.com, 321-355-2747
